What I love about Disney World is there is no shortage of unique experiences. And this can carry over to datenight! While dinner and movie is nice, you can do something a little more special.
A Night with Fireworks
- For my tenth anniversary, my husband and I opted to celebrate at The California Grill in the Contemporary Resort. We timed our dinner reservations with the Magic Kingdom fireworks so we could have dinner and a show.
Sadly we had to cancel but I still dream about how magical this would have been. - Another great option is Topolino’s Terrace at The Riviera Resort where you can have some tapas and watch the Epcot fireworks from the rooftop terrace. This is a favorite of many of my clients and if you have eaten here, you would know why!
- Maybe you don’t want a full meal! You can actually book a private boat ride to watch both Magic Kingdom and Epcot fireworks! The ride comes with snacks and you can bring on a bottle of champagne!
Classic Dates
If you prefer to stick to the classic date night, Disney World has got you covered.

- I have to admit, I am not always a romantic kind of person so this next one may be a top pick for me: Beers and bowling at Splitsville in Disney Springs. Super fun. Super classic!
- If bowling isn’t your thing but you want to be active, go for a round of mini golf at either Fantasia’s Gardens or Winter Summerland. Fantasia’s Gardens is actually my top pick because it ties right into my next date night idea…
- You could also go for a romantic walk on Disney’s BoardWalk. I love this area so much! The atmosphere alone is my favorite. You can grab a drink at some of the stands, take pictures in the photo booth or share an ice cream cone from the ice cream shop.
- During the day here, you can rent a two person surrey bike here. And if the BoardWalk isn’t your kind of place, you can rent bikes at them at Old Key West Resort, Port Orleans Resort French Quarter and Riverside and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort.

- OK maybe you want something classic but more romantic! How about a horse drawn carriage ride? You can take one at Port Orleans Resort Riverside or Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Around the holidays you can see all the fun Christmas decorations at the Fort too!
- How about a hot air balloon ride? Characters in Flight at Disney Springs has beautiful views of the Walt Disney World Resort from above!
- There is also a cake decorating class at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs. During this class, you will decorate a Mickey or Minnie Dome Cake during a class with a talented Disney pastry artist! The session includes some beverages, like specialty coffees, teas, water and select alcoholic beverages.
Party Dates
Not fun enough for you? How about some of the cool bars on property?
- Another reason I think the BoardWalk is the perfect place for a date night! You can end your evening stroll singing along with the dueling pianos at Jellyrolls!
- How about a tropical date? Have a drink at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, an interactive tiki bar in the Polynesian. You can time this with Happily Ever After and watch the fireworks from the beach!
- You can head back to the BoardWalk area and go dancing at the Atlantic Dance Hall. Yes, there is a dance hall in Disney World!
- I am personally always looking for a little extra magic! So I recommend AbracadaBar! This bar is themed after old school magicians and has really fun and unique drinks! Definitely worth a visit!
- You can also do a monorail or Skyliner bar crawl and hit up all the bars and lounges on the route!
Beverage Tasting
- While I am not a huge wine drinker, wine and date night tends to go hand and hand. And did you know there is a wine cellar in Epcot? Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in the Italy Pavilion offers different wine flights.
- But if you are into tequila- how about a tasting with a certified Tequila Ambassador at La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico Pavilion? I don’t know exactly what a Tequila Ambassador does, but I like the sound of it!
Unique Dining
If you are a foodie or simply enjoy unique dining experiences, Disney World has plenty to offer. Really this list can go on and on! But here are some of my top picks!
- The Edison in Disney Springs is designed to look like a 1920s electric company! At night, you can often find different Gatsby themed entertainment.
- STK Steakhouse is another Disney Springs restaurant that’s perfect if you’re looking for dinner and a party.
- Jiko-The Cooking Place in Animal Kingdom Lodge not only has amazing food but a truly unique African themed dining experience. I personally would end the night here with a drink at Victoria Falls, the lounge in Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Animal lovers
- I can’t be the only one who wants to experience the safari at night, right? You can sign up for the Starlight Safari tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. You will be provided with a night vision device so you can see all the African species that roam around the savannas!
- The Savor the Savanna is a HUGE bucket list experience for me! This tour offers a private safari in Animal Kingdom park with African-inspired tapas, beverages and more. Such a cool experience!
